Kids Street Hockey Camp

Street Hockey is cool. It is coached by John Gushman. You usually play scrimmages and there is evening NHL. If you can roller blade, read "Roller Hockey" by Matt Sesikin. Street Hockey is held during 1B and 3A. Fred helps teach Street Hockey.

Street hockey is a great sport. You learn a lot of different things. You learn how to shoot and how to be a defensive and offensive player. There are three different types of shots. They are the slap shot, snap shot and the wrist shot. An offensive player tries to shoot on the opposite goal; a defensive player defends his own goal. I love this sport and I am pretty good at it. If you learn it you will be good at it too. There are also positions to play. They are left wing, right wing, center, right and left defense and goalie. There are three types of hockey you can play; ice, roller and street hockey.

Summer Street Hockey Camp for Kids

By Max Steinberg

Camp Shohola provides a great number of fun activities. One of my favorites is the street hockey program. Mark McAuliffe and Michal Stransky teach the kids drills, technique and other cool stuff. In the beginning of most classes we start out with drills. We form lines next to the goal and a person from each line runs, passing the ball and shooting the ball at the net. Shohola offers street hockey games against other camps in the Pike County. They put teams together for different age groups. We all have positions and we play a game against the other camp's team. It is a lot of fun playing against people you do not know. Street hockey at Shohola is a huge thing that everyone enjoys. We have great Counselors and a lot of fun.

Street Hockey Camp

Hi my name is Colin and this is my article on Street Hockey. My counselors in the class are John, Jamie and Mike. First we have drills in passing, receiving and shooting. Then we have a scrimmage. When we play, Steinburgs’ are always offense because they work very well together. They make great setups and always score, even on Gushman. We also have Gabe Hanna, who can really play the game, but everyone does great. The game of street hockey is unpredictable. Sometimes you score and sometimes you hit the post, just missing the goal by an inch and this is my report.

Hi, my name is Max Steinburg. I have period 1B street hockey. The counselors who instruct the class are mostly Jan Balner, John Gushman, and Mike Stransky. We are a pretty big class of kids. We usually start out with some drills and then we pick teams for a practice game. The best part about street hockey is the NHL leagues in camp. I play in the lower camp league. It’s made up of four teams. They play each other and then play a championship game at the end of the four weeks. My team is undefeated. I have a lot of fun playing street hockey at Shohola.
