Shohola Summer Camp Provides Confidence Building New Skills
Shohola summer camp is created with your child in mind. At Shohola summer camp we focus on the classic camp filled with modern technology, creative expression and sports competition. We offer something of value for every boy. Shohola summer camp offers a third-generation family owned and run boys camp that keeps campers returning year after year and generation after generation. Our beautiful camp is situated on 70 acres at Lake Greeley and we enjoy a beautiful scenic Camp setting.
We understand the value of experience and have been running our boys camp since 1943. Some of the many benefits of our small summer camp include: personal attention from counselors, excellent supervision during every activity, everyone knowing one another's name in the camp, and parents calling at any time to speak personally with the camp director who will be familiar with their child and know him by name. The supervision ratio here at our camp excels all others in the camping industry with approximately a 2 to 1 camper-counselor ratio.
Each camper at Shohola summer camp selects their own schedule from approximately 50 different activities. Each day the campers follow a schedule of their 10 pre-selected activities. The skills obtained here at summer camp are self-confidence boosters that last a lifetime. Maximum summer camp enjoyment is experienced here at Shohola. The summer camp programs include: land sports, water sports, outdoor adventure, equestrian, comm-tech, and arts. The activities offered in each of these programs vary. For example the land sports program involves optional participation in the Pike County athletic league which includes six camps which compete weekly in tournaments; these tournaments include archery, baseball, softball, basketball and so much more. Some of the outdoor adventure program activities include: backpacking, canoeing and hiking, windsurfing and a new week- long outdoor and survival skills camp. Some of the arts program activities include: drawing, painting, rock band, pottery and woodshop. The equestrian summer camp program offers animal care training, possible competition, and horseback riding three to six days a week. The water sports program includes activities such as boating, canoeing and lifeguarding. The comm-tech program is designed for boys who are high educational achievers and desire to gain new computer skills; some of these program activities include: computer programming, robotics, sports broadcasting, web design and digital photography.
Here at Shohola's summer camp we offer well-rounded sets of activities designed to satisfy the interests of every camper. Not every boy is the same and here at Shohola we respect their differences and tailor their daily schedule to meet their interests. We offer diverse activities designed to serve the interests and talents of a diverse group of boys from sports to arts and we leave each boy with a new level of self-confidence and achieved skills. Shohola summer camp provides boys with life-changing experiences that draw them back year after year.
