Camp Shohola is a third generation traditional boys summer camp, located in the mountains
of northeastern Pennsylvania, and accredited by the American Camp Association.

Large Camp Expertise with Small Camp Atmosphere

Boys will be boys and our specialty at Shohola Boys Camp is boys. We offer unique, diversified boys camp activities. Here at Shohola we provide an exceptional camp experience which is individually tailored to each child. Our campus creates a beautiful setting filled with the adventure of the outdoor experience as well as a small camp feel. Enrollment at our camp is approximately 160 boys and everyone knows each other by name. We care about the uniqueness of each boy and we care to know him by name. Our camp provides boys with the expertise offered through large camps with a small camp, personal atmosphere

We embrace each boy's individuality and we embrace diversity in culture, religion, race and experience. We specialize in nurturing the individual talents possessed by each boy. Here at Shohola boys camp they are given a safe environment in which to express themselves in sports, arts, creative expression or computer technology in the beauty of our scenic boys camp. Each boy here at Shohola will learn to swim as well as enjoy the various activities offered through the program which they choose for themselves.

There are various departments at Shohola which offer almost unlimited combinations of activities. These activities will become the boys' focus during their stay with us. Acquiring new skills and boosting self-confidence is a natural byproduct of each child's experience. Each camper selects his own daily activities from over 50 choices. A total of 10 preselected activities make up the camper's daily schedule. These activities can be switched during the first week of camp only, after that it is our goal to keep the camper receiving consistent instruction so that he will go home with new skills.

From the creative, artistic boy to the energetic, athletic boy to the astute, computer-minded boy, the Shohola boys camp has a program designed specifically with your son in mind. Each boy will learn how to swim, as swimming is the only required activity. Each child will be afforded several daily elective activities which are chosen by him at the beginning of his session. The boys camp includes: the land sports department, the water sports department, the outdoor adventure program, the equestrian program, the comm-tech department and the arts department.

Each department offers various activities to help the child develop new skills and new self confidence. The arts program includes drawing, painting, rock band and poetry. The outdoor adventure department includes backpacking, canoeing, whitewater rafting and more. When you add in horseback riding, computer programming, boating, softball and basketball and skateboarding, you realize that the Shohola boys camp programs are designed to offer a unique boys camp experience and to send the boys home with new skills as well as advances in their self-confidence. We offer large camp expertise with a small camp atmosphere including a 2 to 1 counselor-camper ratio.
