Established in 1943, Camp Shohola has been helping young boys mature for almost 80 years. Our facilities are also available for group rentals for any occasion that will fit within a rustic setting. Band camp for the marching band? A secluded wedding? How about a weekend retreat for your employees to work on team building?

Whatever your needs are, Camp Shohola has options to make your event something to remember.

The Facility

Located in Greeley, PA, Camp Shohola offers the beauty of the Pocono Mountains with the convenience of easy access. The location is central to New York City (90 miles), Philadelphia (120 miles), Baltimore (235 miles), and Washington DC (270 miles).

The camp sits on the edge of Lake Greeley, a beautiful 70-acre body of water that adds the ability to include water activities into your weekend retreat. The lake is perfect for boating and fishing. Fishing is subject to PA licensing laws.

Several buildings are available for large or small meetings, group break-away sessions, or presentations. Camp Shohola can provide food service, or you can arrange for catered food. If your group wants to prepare their meals — you can use our commercial kitchen facilities (we will even have someone to wash the dishes).

Our dining facility is large enough to fit your entire group, with a scenic deck overlooking the lake. It is designed to operate with a family-style meal service.

Weekend and overnight gatherings using our cabin facilities are possible when we do not have active boy’s camps scheduled. Our regular summer camping season runs from late June through mid-August, which overlaps our event availability from early May to Mid-October.

One-Day Events

Planning and scheduling one-day events at Camp Shohola offers an excellent opportunity to conduct your event in a beautiful, relaxing outdoor venue. You won’t find tapestries on the walls and million-dollar design attributes, but our rustic setting will lend a quaintness to your wedding or family reunion that will photograph wonderfully.

Need to get your office workers out of the building for a day to refocus their energy? A day trip to Camp Shohola for meetings, training, or just a day of fun activities might be just what you and your business needs to recharge your workforce. Our facilities include courts, fields, lawn games, and an incredibly serene and scenic environment.

Whatever your one-day event — our facilities will provide an awesome atmosphere. During the day, the temperature ranges around 85 degrees or lower. It does get cooler after the sun goes down. If your group plans a campfire in the evening, they may wish to bring a light wrap or jacket. Of course, the further away you get from summer, the cooler it gets.

Week, Weekend, and Overnight Events

Our cabins are set up to sleep 8 to 10 people in charmingly rustic cabins. Each cabin has a bathroom and sink, with three centrally located shower houses on the property. The visitor should supply linens or sleeping bags. We do not provide linens outside our summer camp season.

The setting is rustic, so you won’t find any fancy trappings. Functionality is the word that best describes our cabin facilities. Cabins are perfect for sports camps, band camps, team-building trips, and more. Don’t hesitate to contact our scheduling coordinator if you would like to schedule a multi-day event at Camp Shohola.

Options Abound

  • Large lighted athletic fields
  • Lighted sports courts

Group rental season extends from early May through mid-October. Please note that some event dates may overlap summer camping schedules. Overlapping may cause the non-availability or limited use of some facilities.
