Summer Windsurfing Camp

by Michael Kronsfadt Cabin 7

Windsurfing is no doubt the best out of all of the water sports. If you like sailing, but don’t like pulling up a sail with everyone else on your boat you would love the sport of Windsurfing. Even if you can’t actually use the sail, it’s fun to paddle around on the boards and when no one is looking, flip the board next to you. Paula is also the best teacher you can find. She teaches you everything you need to know and sometimes even more. For all of the time you’re sitting there learning, you’re in the water and on the board twice as much.

Windsurfing Camps

Windsurfing is an awesome sport where you’re free to do anything you would like to do. You can swim near your board, or try windsurfing, the best you can. You go really fast if the wind blows hard against the sail. I love windsurfing, and will take it next year if I get the chance too. It’s kind of scary when you get on the board the first time. It’s also really hard to keep your balance. One of the hardest things to do is pull the sail out from under water. If you succeed in that then, you have to hold the sail so it does not fall back down. Overall its an awesome class that I won’t forget.

Windsurfing Camp

Windsurfing is a lot of fun. Windsurfing is when you have a board that you stand on, and you hook a sail on to it. You then lift up the sail and sail along on the board. It’s really hard because the sail is heavy, and usually the wind will push against the sail, and it’s hard to hold it up when the wind pushes it down. Paula teaches it, and makes it fun because there’s a lot of sailing instead of talking. Seth also teaches it, and he is really funny and helpful

Summer Windsurfing Camp

In Windsurfing, we sometimes take out boards and play Gladiators, where we stand on the ends of the board so the opponent’s board goes flying away. Of coarse, there are days where we actually surf with sails. Matt Silverstein and Paula Wettergreen are amazing teachers, and they are funny, nice, and awesome at teaching windsurfing.

Summer Camp Windsurfing

By Ramon Calderer Working Senior

Windsurfing is one of the best activities of the camp because we can get refreshed on hot, non-windy days and on windy days we can practice it well. Another thing that makes windsurfing a good activity is that we have a good chance to improve and learn our windsurfing skills.

Camp Summer Windsurfing

Wind surfing this year with Corey has been a great new experience for me. At the beginning of the month we would go on boards and play games out on our boards. Then when it started getting windy out on the lake Corey would send us out with sails to try it out. He would stay on the wind surfing dock and tell us what to do. At the beginning of the summer I didn’t know how to windsurf very well, but by the last two classes I had gotten pretty good at it. Windsurfing has been one of my favorite periods this year and I hope to continue it next year.
