I like Woodshop a lot because they don’t have to explain what all of the tools do and they let you choose whatever you want to do anytime you want. When you do something, they give you a lot of choices to make it better, but they don’t force you to do it. Joseph teaches the class, and he’s experienced and always tries to help, and doesn’t rush you. Right now, I’m making a tic-tac-toe board. My favorite part is that it’s fun making the project and the outcome is really cool.

Wood shop is awesome. Duncan and Tommy let’s you make whatever you want. I made a Ping Pong Paddle that I use in Ping Pong class. The teachers help you with everything. You can use hammers, drills, nails, glue, saws, planes and if you are responsible, the band saw and the jigg saw. Some of my peers have made cars, planes, birdhouses, CD racks, boxes, puzzles and lots of other cool things. It’s a difficult process to create and finish wood projects. First you must plan on paper what you’re going to make. Then you draw it on the wood and cut it out. Then file the wood until it’s smooth. Then you can use sandpaper end then either stain or paint your project. Woodshop is offered 1B, 2B, 3B, 4B and 5B.

Playing with wood all my life is what I liked. I liked that here in Shohola I got the opportunity to use my knowledge and build something. I am building a sward. It is long and very strong and with nice decorations. I like woodshop because it is my passion to play with wood. I would encourage to try this activity next year.
